The Southern Living Idea House was a page turner in the highly-anticipated issue as readers devoured the divine home that is low-country inspired with metal roofing, lap siding and more than 2,200 square feet of porch space. “This really is a dream home,” shared Chris Wood, Co-Owner of Riverside Homes, “Our team understands how important it is to capture the authenticity of this style of home. We worked very hard and very closely with the architect to ensure we gave Southern Living enthusiasts exactly what they expected.” Upon completion, more than 15,000 visitors traveled from all over the world to tour Riverside Homes Custom’s masterpiece with a portion of the proceeds from the tour benefiting the Fernandina Beach Historical Society. “In every room and at the turn of every corner, we want people to discover a new concept in design and create an idea book of their own that every home owner will love,” said Wood. With a daunting construction timeline of six months to build a 7,000 square foot waterfront home, Riverside Homes’ team tirelessly created a true Southern beauty designed to fit perfectly into its waterfront location.
